Tommy Bradson and Karra Peppler

Tommy Bradson (pictured) is presenting his show "Sweet Sixteen or The Birthday Party Massacre" as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. He joins us for a chat. We'll also be joined by Karra Peppler who is directing a new Australian musical called "Shining Armour" which opens in September. The production team is about to conduct auditions for the show. And we'll play some tracks by Betty Buckley and Chita Rivera.

Assassins, Bad Boys, Emma Clair Ford & Jon Jackson

Tyran Parke is directing a new production of the Stephen Sondheim/John Weidman musical Assassins at Fortyfive Downstairs. He joins us in the studio to tell us about the show. We'll also be joined by Andrew Strano and John Frankland from the Bad Boys of Music Theatre (also at Fortyfive Downstairs), Emma Clair Ford and Jon Jackson (who are both part of the Random Acts of Cabaret season at Chapel off Chapel).

Acclaimed French chanteuse Caroline Nin returns to Melbourne this week for shows at The Famous Spiegeltent. Also performing at the same venue is genre-bender and cabaret/blues singer Christa Hughes in her new show Neurotic Ladyland. Both of these talented women will join us for a chat.

Queen of Burlesque Imogen Kelly is our special guest

Internationally renowned performance artist Imogen Kelly will be at The Speigeltent at the Arts Centre on Wednesday February 20 and Thursday February 21 with her show Herstory. Herstory is a joyous rewriting of some famous historical figures including Marie Antoinette, Marlene Dietrich and even Little Red Riding Hood. As well we'll play some old and new duets featuring Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand, Michael Feinstein and Angela Lansbury.

Hair - starting this week as part of Midsumma

Opening on Thursday at Chapel off Chapel as part of Midsumma is the musical that rocked, shocked and defined a generation, Hair! And we'll have cast members in the studio to tell us about it and sing a number! And because it't the Australia Day weekend we'll have a full line-up of Aussie acts, including David Campbell and Judi Connelli!
