Short + Sweet Cabaret Festival Director Jo O'Callaghan joins us in the studio with some of the great performers who'll be strutting their stuff, including Sarah Gaul, Shanon Whitelock and Rachel Dunham, and Amanda Buckley. David Harris is our special guest on our 100th show

David Harris (pictured) is currently appearing in Legally Blonde in Sydney. He's previously been in Wicked, Mamma Mia and Miss Saigon. And he's coming to Melbourne for the Rob Guest Endowment Concert on Monday 19 November. We'll also chat to Pasquale Bartalotto who's appearing in Mountain District Musical Society's production of Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida. We're going to speak to David Raleigh about the show he is doing with Nathan Leigh Jones at The Butterfly Club on the 2nd of November, and play some of our favourite tracks!!

Andrew Doyle is special guest host

Early this year the Melbourne Cabaret Festival undertook a Pozible fundraising campaign for the Festival. One of the items for sale was hosting The Cabaret Room. Ron and Margaret Dobell kindly bought this item and donated it to VCA graduate Andrew Doyle (pictured). Andrew will be chatting to three of his former VCA classmates, Jayde Kirchert (who was in Annie), Evan Lever (Moonshadow) and Zoy Frangos (An Officer and a Gentleman), and to Justin Clausen about his show "The Cost of Love". Andrew has selected some Aussie cabaret classic tracks, including Eddie Perfect and Gillian Cosgriff.

Another jam-packed show. Actor Gerry Connolly is one of the stars of the forthcoming production of Stephen Sondheim's "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum". Michael Gwynne is one of the writers and performers of "Certain Men". Jane Badler is performing as part of the Ballarat Cabaret Festival and Bradley Storer is presenting "Bloodlines: A Gothic Cabaret" for the Melbourne Fringe Festival. We'll talk to all of them.

Christie Whelan, Dean Bryant and Adam Porter

Christie Whelan is playing Philia in the new Aussie production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, alongside an all-star cast led by Geoffrey Rush and Magda Szubanski. Dean Bryant is also working on the show as Assistant Director. Christie and Dean will join us to tell us about their preparation. And Adam Porter is part of the cast of Homemade Fusion, a song cycle by Amercians Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond which is being presented at The Butterfly Club.

Paul Malek & Peter Pinne

Acclaimed choreographer Paul Malek (pictured above) will be working with Director Robbie Carmellotti and Musical Director Cameron Thomas to present Hair as part of Midsumma 2013. Paul joins us to tell us about it. And on the eve of OzMade Musicals 2012 veteran music theatre composer Peter Pinne will talk about his 1966 musical A Bunch of Ratbags and his West End hit, Prisoner Cell Block H. Sean Gunn will be phoning us to preview the Ballarat Cabaret Festival and we'll play music by Trevor Ashley, Reg Livermore and Caroline O'Connor.

Izaak Lim (pictured) and Butterfly Club favourite Trevor Jones are presenting a "totally uncalled-for" tribute to Tom Lehrer at The Butterfly Club. Ballarat Cabaret Festival & OzMade Musicals 2012

Geraldine Quinn (pictured) is one of the artists who will be appearing as part of the Ballarat Cabaret Festival which runs between 12 - 20 October. One of the artistic directors, Sean Gunn, will join us to provide some more details of the Festival. Chuck Mallett and John Muirhead

John Muirhead and Chuck Mallett (pictured with Robert Tripolino and Spanky aka Candice McQueen) recently presented "Brecht: Bilbao and Beyond" as part of the Melbourne Cabaret Festival 2012. During their years in London Chuck worked with Sir Laurence Olivier, Diana Rigg, Judi Dench, Glynis Johns and Angela Lansbury, amongst others, and John performed in "Boys in the Band", "Tommy" and "The Seagull". They're joining us to talk about their working life with the stars.

Her launch event is Penelope Pushpump Presents...The Marvelous Wonderettes and Friends. The Marvelous Wonderettes will also be presenting a season at fortyfivedownstairs. Angela Lumicisi and her three piece band are presenting "We’ve only just begun. The music of The Carpenters" at the Butterfly Club this month. Jade Leonard and Trevor Jones are combining their considerable talents for a show at The Butterfly Club called The Greatest Medley of all Time. They will join us in the studio. Backwards Anorak and Male Burlesque star Raven

Vincent Milesi and Michelle Brasier (pictured) are recent graduates from the Ballarat Arts Academy. They call themselves Backwards Anorak and they are presenting "A Hip Hikers Guide to the Galaxy" at the Butterfly Club. Raven is studying at the National Institute of Circus Arts and is one of the progenitors of Male Burlesque in Australia. He's part of Homoexotica which is being launched at Red Bennies on Sunday 11 March. And we'll play some tracks by Melody Gardot and David Harris.

John O'May is playing Georges and David Rogers-Smith is the glamourous Albin in the new production of La Cage Aux Folles which will be at the National Theatre in St Kilda from March 15th - 24th. Jake Diefenbach (pictured) is launching his new album, Missing Person, at the Butterfly Club from Friday 10 to Sunday 12 February. The new musical DreamSong is part of the Carnegie 18 season at The Arts Centre from Saturday 4 to Tuesday 7 February. The creators of DreamSong are Hugo Chiarella and Robert Tripolino. And Julia Zemiro is part of Pull My Focus which is at the Malthouse on Monday nights from Feb 6 to March 26. And they'll all be talking to us in The Cabaret Room this Sunday night from 9pm.

Twinky and the Bear live in the studio

Twinky and the Bear is a new two man cabaret premiering at the GH during the 2012 Midsumma Festival. Scott Hili (the Bear) and Mitchell Sanfilippo (the Twink) join us live in the studio with musical director Daniele Buatti to sing a couple of tracks from the show. We'll also play a few classic tracks from musicals.
