Leonard Bernstein (pictured) was the composer of Candide and West Side Story along with other musicals and his own Mass. We'll feature some tracks from Candide and West Side Story, and we'll also talk to Sophie Walsh-Harrington about her show The Damsel in Shining Armour.

Dean Bryant tells us about Priscilla and Next to Normal

Dean Bryant (pictured at left with his writing partner Mathew Frank) has just returned from the triumphant premiere of Priscilla Queen of the Desert on Broadway. He joins us in the Cabaret Room to tell us all about it. He'll also be talking about directing Next to Normal for Melbourne Theatre Company. And we'll throw in some German and French cabaret classics from the middle of the 20th century, including tracks by Marlene Dietrich and Edith Piaf.

Meet Robert Tripolino and Hugo Chiarella, creators of Dreamsong!

In the Cabaret Room, tomorrow night at 9pm on JOY 94.9, we'll be chatting to composer Robert Tripolino and lyricist and book writer Hugo Chiarella, creators of the new musical Dreamsong!, which is about to open at the Victorian College of Arts and Music. We'll also play tracks by Elaine Paige, Eva Cassidy & Paul Capsis, & our featured composer is Jules Styne.
