Aaron Joyner, Dan Humphris & Don Bridges preview Anyone Can Whistle

Anyone Can Whistle was a Broadway flop in 1964, running for only 9 performances. It was Angela Lansbury's first musical and has become a cult favourite. It's the 3rd work in the Stephen Sondheim Triptych presented by Magnormos at the Melbourne Recital Centre. Director Aaron Joyner, Dan Humphris (pictured) who plays J. Bowden Hapgood and Don Bridges (Treasurer Cooley & Dr Detmold) discuss the show and some of their exploits in the theatre. Click here.

Aaron Joyner and Zac Tyler talk about Saturday Night

Magnormos Artistic Director Aaron Joyner and Zac Tyler (pictured) who played the leading role of Gene in Saturday Night talk about the first show in the Stephen Sondheim Triptych. Sondheim wrote Saturday Night in the early 1950s but it wasn't produced until 1997 and that was in London. Click here for the interview with Aaron and Zac.

Judi Connelli talks about her early years, The Threepenny Opera and Mary Poppins

Judi Connelli is one of Australia's most respected cabaret and theatrical performers. Her long list of credits includes roles for Opera Australia such as Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd, Katisha in The Mikado, Golda in Fiddler on the Roof, Zozo in The Merry Widow, The Duchess in The Gondoliers and Mrs. Pearce in My Fair Lady. Her musical theatre repertoire includes Carlotta Campion in Follies, The Witch in Into the Woods, Matron Mama Morton in Chicago, Mama Rose in Gypsy, Fraulein Schneider in Cabaret, Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard and Aunt March in Little Women.

In May 2010 Judi talked about her early years in Brisbane and Sydney, and performing in The Threepenny Opera with Eddie Perfect, and as the evil Nanny in Mary Poppins. Click here for the interview.
